From the time, BS2 emissions norms were mandated in 2001, diesel engines have dropped the NOx levels by 88% and PM by 94%. At BS6, the emissions from gasoline and diesel vehicles are very similar. With these vehicles being certified based on Real Drive Emissions (RDE), the real life emissions will be on par with what is checked in the lab.
With Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) fitted on all BS6 vehicles, particulates that come out of the exhaust of a diesel engine can be lower than those measured at the intake.
Delphi-TVS's advanced high-pressure Common Rail (CR) technology has been instrumental in enabling the Indian automotive industry to achieve compliance with evolving emission standards. This includes the significant leap from BS4 to BS6 Step-1 and further advancements to BS6 Step-2 in 2023.
Innovation driven by necessity, Delphi-TVS developed a groundbreaking oil-lubricated unit pump (UPCR) that meets diverse customer requirements. This robust and economical solution is easily adaptable to existing engines and, most notably, is designed, developed, and manufactured entirely in India. more...
